This course is designed to provide an overview of the basic elements necessary in providing effective spiritual care
and support to those whom God has entrusted to a Pastoral team. This course provides a general overview of how
the combination of theory, spiritual knowledge, and practical experience can result in an individual becoming an
effective pastor. Special attention will be given to the counseling nature of God, as well as the believer’s role in working
with God’s Word and Spirit in providing meaningful ministry to individuals. The course will address basic skills
necessary in providing quality pastoral care, such as effective listening and effective communication, confidentiality,
recognizing one’s limitations, and how to make referrals.
