This course is to provide an overview of the story of the historical development of the Christian Church. It is an introductory course that will look at the key persons, events and theological trends that have shaped the church to what we see it as today. This is not a course of dates, names and theological classifications to be memorized for an exam. It is hoped that these details will be learned as part of the process of seeing the story of how the Holy Spirit has been working in the Church of Jesus Christ. This course is to help the student become familiar with the periods of Church History, important leaders, significant issues, great movements and the characteristics of the True Church.
