This module will give students an overview of two thousand years of Church History including
the people and events that are associated with them, beginning with the book of Acts to the
present. This is an introductory course that will look at the key persons, events and theological
trends that have shaped the church to what we see it as today. First century Christianity had its
roots in Judaism. We will see how the church went through cycles of revival, apostasy and
revival again. It is hoped that the dates, names and theological classifications to be memorized
for an exam will be learned as part of the process of seeing the story of how the church has
developed within its historical contexts and has come to be as it is now. Attention will be given
to supernatural manifestations of the Holy Spirit and the role of missions in the church
throughout the centuries.
